Market Update

As the winter chill gains momentum, it seems Auckland prices are finally starting to feel the cold. Over the last two months, the average Auckland sales price has remained reasonably static, with an increase in May of only 2.4 percent on the previous 3 months. It’s still a positive rise, but it’s well down on the 12 percent increase seen in the 2015 calendar year.

What’s driving this price stabilisation? It’s certainly not due to a lack of buyers. May sales volumes were up more than a third on those in April, however it’s the historically low levels of listings that are driving these stable prices.

Yet with continued strong buyer demand, there has never been a better time for vendors to sell. Purchaser needs certainly don’t slow down during winter, so have a chat with me today to see how I can help you make your next move.

This weekend is the last weekend of open homes for 8 Hawkins Street. This property is a “blank canvas” on a full section in Meadowbank. Open Saturday and Sunday 12 – 12:30. See you there!
